Public Call for Co-Financing Environmental and Sustainability Labels for Hospitality and Tourism Providers

The Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport has announced a public call for co-financing the acquisition or renewal (re-certification) of international environmental and sustainability labels for hospitality and tourism providers. A total of €300,000 is available, and applications can be submitted until 19 September 2025.

The call is part of the Slovenia Green Scheme and supports the objectives of the Slovenian Tourism Strategy 2022–2028. A novelty in 2025 is the co-financing of renewals of already obtained labels.

Eligible applicants

  • Legal entities, sole traders, associations, and other public and private sector entities in the field of tourism and hospitality that have not yet received funding for the same facility.
  • Existing label holders seeking renewal.

Eligible costs

  • Acquisition of international environmental or sustainability labels (e.g., EU Ecolabel, Green Globe, Green Key, Travelife, Ecocamping, B Corp, Good Travel Seal).
  • Renewal of the validity of existing labels.

Funding amounts

  • Up to €3,500 for the introduction/acquisition of an individual label (Lot 1).
  • Up to €1,000 for renewal (Lot 2).

Workshop topics:

  • How to successfully apply to the 2025 public call.
  • Which costs are eligible and how to prepare a quality application.
  • How an environmental or sustainability label can improve visibility and increase guest trust.
  • Examples of best practices from existing providers.

The event will be led by Tadeja Waldhuber, a sustainability tourism expert.

Participation is free, but places are limited.

Application deadline and submission method

Applications must be submitted electronically to gp.mgts@gov.si by 19 September 2025 (by 23:59). Eligible costs are those incurred from 1 January 2024 onwards.
