On Sunday, June 8, 2025, Maribor will once again host the traditional 46th “Around Pohorje” Cycling Marathon, one of the largest recreational cycling events in Slovenia. The start is scheduled for 9:00 AM at Lent, Maribor’s popular riverside venue, where cycling enthusiasts of all ages will gather.

The marathon offers four routes of varying difficulty levels, so every participant can find a challenge that suits them:

• 147 km (Energija plus Around Pohorje) – 1,269 meters of elevation gain and 4 refreshment stops

• 72 km – 683 meters of elevation gain and 3 refreshment stops

• 50 km – 404 meters of elevation gain and 2 refreshment stops

• 30 km – 191 meters of elevation gain and 1 refreshment stop

This event is more than just a sporting challenge – it’s also a chance to socialize and support a charitable cause. Along the route, organizers will ensure safety, refreshments, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Everyone is invited – from experienced cyclists to families and beginners – to join in and enjoy a day in nature, on your bike, and in great company.
