SuRealistas: Surreally Sensational!

Their veins flow with Argentine, Sicilian, and Tuscan blood – and perhaps even a hint of Bosnian. Their hearts beat to the rhythms of Afro-American percussion, somewhere between cumbia and son, MPB (Música Popular Brasileira), and bossa nova. Their teenage dreams were steeped in rock, psychedelia, songwriting, and a passion for literature. With a new album in their pocket, they’re coming to the OTP Bank Stage to prove that dreams can come true!

"Life is the art of encounter," said Vinícius de Moraes – and it’s precisely from such encounters that the band SuRealistas emerged, a group deeply inspired by their love for South American tradition. At the same time, they remain a truly authentic band, operating as they did in the old days – without a leader, based on the concept of a circle that embraces and respects a colorful array of ideas, voices, and sounds.

The key to their realism, both magical and surreal, lies in the word "Sur." It represents not just South America, but also the Global South and the world’s periphery – minorities, diversity, nature on the brink of collapse, and a world wandering aimlessly without a clear direction.

Each of their performances is a unique ritual, a celebration of life, song, and dance – an experience you won’t easily forget.

They’ve already completed numerous European tours and released four albums: SuRealistas (2016), Canta (2018), Ritmo Animal (2020), and the latest, La Vuelta (2024).
