Sekou Dembele is an excellent percussionist from West Africa, specifically Mali. In West Africa, he is known as an important member of the group Diarrakan, as well as a percussionist for Nahawe Doumbia, among others. He will perform with the Slovenian percussion group Womango as part of the project Maribum Afriqui 2025, which is being mentored by Tina Sovič in the Plesna izba (Dance Room) in Maribor.

We will hear West African dance rhythms with unique arrangements and virtuoso solos by the African guest on African percussion instruments: african gourd, djembe, and bass drums.
