Most of us have already heard of or even seen a performance or show of oriental dance. However, few know how closely oriental and Romani dance are connected—just like the Romani language, Romani dance began its journey from the ancestral homeland of the Roma people, India, thousands of years ago.

Although we no longer live in ancient times or travel the world by wagons, on foot, or horseback, this rich dance heritage lives on and continues to inspire and captivate us time and again.

The dancers from the Zahir Dance Workshop and their guests are modern-day "dance storytellers" who will share their tales through various dance fusions and take us on a journey into the colorful world of oriental dance.
