The Cultural Society Big Band Zagorje was established in 2002. The orchestra consists of a group of excellent musicians from Zagorje and the surrounding area.

The conductor of the orchestra is Gregor Troha, and the repertoire includes classical pieces for dance orchestras, complemented by newer, more attractive arrangements. The band has collaborated with many well-known Slovenian vocalists and groups, including Alenka Godec, Nuša Derenda, Oto Pestner, Slavko Ivančič, Uroš Perič, Matjaž Mrak and New Swing Quartet, Lojze and Romana Krajnčan, Tomaž Grintal, Irena Vidic, King Foo, Matevž Šalehar – Hamo, and many others.

The orchestra has received the highest award from the Municipality of Zagorje for its work in the field of culture, the dr. Slavko Grum plaque.

At this concert, Big Band Zagorje, with singer Alenka Godec, will take the audience on a journey through the golden era of Slovenian pop music.
