In 2023, a small book titled Funny Poems (Hecne pesmice) was published, written by Alenka Bervar and illustrated by her daughter Maja Bervar. It contains 12 short, witty poems that tell amusing tales of various animal characters. The book is accompanied by an audio recording in which the author’s grandson Žan Kotolenko reads the poems, enriched with a soundscape and effects created by her son Jernej Bervar.

Over the past year, the author also set all the poems to music for a children’s choir and piano. You will hear them performed by the Children’s Choir of Prežihov Voranc Primary School Maribor, conducted by Jasmina Petek. The concert will be enriched with live recitations of the poems and a performance by twelve-year-old Žan Kotolenko, who will sing two original songs accompanied by guitar.
