Mariborski komorni orkester z gosti: Mozartov Rekviem

Programme:

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Requiem Mass in D minor, K.626

The Maribor Chamber Orchestra brings together string professors from Styrian music schools and former students of the Maribor Conservatory of Music and Ballet, who are now studying at music academies in Ljubljana, Graz, and Vienna. The idea for the string orchestra project was born primarily out of a desire for active collaboration and performance in an ensemble that, in addition to pedagogical work, would also allow for interpretative engagement across various genres and musical styles. Most members have significant experience performing in symphonic and string orchestras both in Slovenia and abroad, including the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Slovene National Theatre Maribor, and others.

Slavko Magdić completed his conducting studies at the Gnesin Academy of Music in Moscow with the highest distinction. He spent a year as assistant to chief conductor Evgeny Kolobov at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre in Moscow and further refined his skills under V. Kozhukhar, Y. Simonov, and A. Holub. He is the recipient of several awards from various competitions, including first prize at the Gnesin Academy competition and top placement at the national music competition with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra. He has conducted the Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, the Varaždin Chamber Orchestra, the Belgrade Philharmonic, the Croatian Chamber Orchestra, and the London Classical Soloists. As principal conductor and artistic director of the Symphony Orchestra of the Maribor Conservatory of Music and Ballet, he has performed in Maribor, Ljubljana, Varaždin, Banja Luka, and Tuzla. He is also one of the founders of the Maribor Chamber Orchestra, with which he has led several highly successful concerts.
