Prvonagrajenci tekmovanja TEMSIG 2025: Zala Zgonc

Zala Zgonc (born in 2009) is currently attending the 1st year of piano studies at the Conservatory of Music and Ballet in Ljubljana, in the class of Professor Lidija Malahotky Haas. Simultaneously, she attends Bežigrad Grammar School. She initially studied piano at the Franc Šturm Music School with Professor Jelka Žugelj, following the piano method of her mother, Professor Magda Dimnik-Kryžanowski.

Throughout the years, Zala has performed at school events and competitions; in the Knights’ Hall at Križanke, at the Review of Music Schools and final performances at the Slovenian Philharmonic, at the Mozart Family Days in Polhov Gradec Mansion, at the "Children for Children" concert, as well as at the final performance and summer recital of the International Carinthian Piano Competition. She has also attended several masterclasses with renowned piano professors.

Zala is the recipient of the following awards, certificates, and honors:

  • Silver Plaque (TEMSIG, 2019)

  • Gold Plaque and 1st Prize, as well as a Special Award for the best performance of a Classical period piece (10th International Carinthian Piano Competition, 2021)

  • Gold Plaque (TEMSIG, 2022)

  • Gold Plaque and 1st Prize, Special Awards for the best performances of Baroque and Classical works, Award for the Most Promising Young Pianist, and a performance at the final concert (11th International Carinthian Piano Competition, 2022)

  • 1st Place and 1st Prize (3rd International Music Competition Musica Goritiensis, Italy, 2023)

  • Gold Plaque and 1st Prize, Special Awards for the best performances of Baroque and Classical works, performance at the final concert, and a recital at the 12th Summer Academy for Young Talents (12th International Carinthian Piano Competition, 2023)

  • 1st Place and 2nd Prize (4th International Music Competition Musica Goritiensis, Italy, 2024)

  • Gold Plaque, 1st Prize, and a Special Award for the best performance of the required piece (TEMSIG, 2025).
