Slovenski orkester flavt
The founding of the Slovenian Flute Orchestra was, in many ways, a natural response to the challenges of the pandemic era, a time during which many of us questioned the meaning of our professional pursuits.
The orchestra is composed of flutists — all professionally trained musicians — united by a fundamental love for music and music-making, forming a deeply connected community. In the flute orchestra, music is not only performed but truly lived and breathed. Each tone, each pulse of the music carries immense emotional richness, shaped by the flutists, many of whom are former classmates and long-time colleagues. Through rehearsals and concert preparations, they connect, bond, build friendships, and recall shared musical journeys.
The orchestra includes piccolo flutes, concert flutes in C, alto flutes, and bass flutes. For an added spectrum of color, double bass, piano, and percussion are also included. The orchestra’s sound, when properly balanced, played without vibrato and with well-tuned chords, resembles that of a beautifully voiced organ — something truly unique.
