Il grande spettacolo della fine del mondo

The Great Spectacle of the End of the World presents an original interpretation of the conflict between those who are destroying this earth with their weight, violence, or indifference, and those who instead celebrate it as Mother Earth, of which we are all children, and for which we all have a responsibility to care.

Apocalyptic Street Performance

A performance about the dangers here and now

The Great Spectacle of the End of the World presents an original interpretation of the conflict between those who are destroying this earth with their weight, violence, or indifference, and those who instead celebrate it as Mother Earth, of which we are all children, and for which we all have a responsibility to care.

Inspired by the Greek myth of the goddess Ceres and the abduction of her daughter Proserpina by the god of the underworld Pluto, the Great Spectacle of the End of the World depicts the battle between life and death, between disaster and dreams, and between the underworld and love, embodied in the conflict between two peoples: the people of spring and the people of the underworld. Their clash becomes a troubling metaphor for the climate crisis we are experiencing firsthand.

Fake news, indifference, apocalyptic hints, broken protocols, generational divides – theatre is the instrument that, with its power of representation, helps us create new perspectives that are closer to everyday reality and the needs of the people.
