Laibach

Laibach and Lent. Not just powerful, but unique!

“Laibach have never sounded as relevant as when they create the soundtrack for this absurd era,” wrote a British critic. And he couldn’t be more right.

Not long ago, totalitarianism and fascism – the “musical Frankenstein spat out of hell,” as European media described Slovenia’s most successful music export of all time – seemed primarily an artistic provocation and conceptual construct. Today, however, we must recognize that these musical demons have not only stepped onto political stages but have moved into everyday life and the lives of millions of Europeans. With the thunder and pounding experienced at almost every Laibach concert, they now even permeate the “world beacon of democracy and freedom,” as the United States of America liked to call itself.

It is no coincidence that it was there that the Trbovlje-based group was first recognized as a global musical phenomenon to be taken seriously – and not only for their artistic provocations or media buzz, but foremost because of the music. And they were right. One must admit: the notes and sounds Laibach first released with their self-titled album in 1985, and then developed across more than thirty albums, are truly unique – and therefore all the more precious.

What notes and musical messages does Laibach send today, in the era of artificial intelligence and digital servitude? Discover it yourself at the Lent Festival, at the first Slovenian concert of their major European tour, where they will present a completely new album with a brand-new live program. And the cherry on top: the Maribor concert promises a unique setlist, potentially including surprise musical guests.

Laibach – unique, exclusive, truly: completely Laibach. (No need to say: don’t delay getting your tickets!)
