Terrafolk

Terrafolk is a Slovenian musical group that uniquely blends folk music with elements of classical, rock, and world music. Their distinctive approach lies in treating tradition in a playful and unconventional way, full of imagination, while still maintaining respect for the original material. The ensemble is known for its energetic and striking performances, where the interplay of humor and improvisation plays an important role. Through their music and performances, they build bridges not only between different musical worlds, but also between generations.

Over time, Terrafolk has gained a loyal audience both at home and abroad, and their recognizable musical style was awarded the international BBC World Music Award in 2003. They have toured in most European countries and performed at prestigious festivals such as the EBU Folk Music Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Glastonbury, Pannonica, Druga Godba, Festival Maribor, and many others. Between 2004 and 2013, they created numerous projects with orchestras such as the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the Jena Philharmonic, and the specially formed Simbolični Orchestra.
