The concert cabaret, based on the album Brezmejna, is an omnibus of original short stories in the form of set-to-music authorial poetry by actor, director, screenwriter, musician, and chansonnier Jure Ivanušič, performed in collaboration with the outstanding ensemble NORDunk.
It is a top-tier music-theatre evening, where an intimate cabaret unfolds through a collection of ten chansons, blending rock energy, cinematic atmosphere, and symphonic richness. Ivanušič performs it alongside NORDunk, while the album on which the performance is based was also recorded with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra. The project took nearly two decades to develop – some pieces were newly completed, some entirely new – and with a chanson from this collection, Ivanušič & NORDunk won the Slovenian Chanson Festival 2025.
Experiencing Jure Ivanušič and NORDunk means encountering a playful theatre full of irony and satire, addressing themes relevant to the contemporary individual: from modern slavery, bluffing relationships, rebellion and conformity, poverty and violence, to the fear of life and the fear of a wasted life. Before the audience unfolds a kaleidoscope of emotions, from love and passion, joy and pain, to inner anxiety and unfulfilled dreams.
