Jazz Stage: Severa Gjurin & band

A concert by Severa Gjurin with a top-tier accompanying ensemble, presenting her new album Pomlad through intimate, sensual, and more upbeat compositions that blend music, poetry, and visual art.

Severa Gjurin, an outstanding Slovenian musician and visual artist who has also been nominated for Slovenian Woman of the Year, has been captivating audiences for more than two decades with her distinctive voice—gentle yet powerfully expressive.

Together with an exceptional group of musicians, she will appear at Festival Lent 2026. In early 2025, she premiered her new album Pomlad, released on vinyl (LP), CD, and digital platforms. The album features ten intimate yet vibrant tracks, rich in lyrical depth and carefully crafted arrangements.

Beyond the music and lyrics, Severa also created the album’s illustrations, weaving a visual layer into its artistic concept. The musical production was developed in collaboration with acclaimed musicians—Dejan Lapanja, Uroš Rakovec, Danijel Bogataj, Žiga Golob, and Blaž Celarec—who will also join her on stage in Maribor. Together they recorded seven tracks, mostly captured live in the studio to preserve the immediacy of the moment and the unique energy of each piece.

She also co-created two songs, Kamin and Sonce, with Gal Gjurin, who divides his time between Slovenia and Canada, further enriching the album’s sonic palette.

Expect both ballads and more lively pieces—above all, music that invites you to pause and be present. “I wanted it to have a good vibration. I like it, so I’m smiling,” says Severa.
