≈ [približno enako kot]
The mathematical symbol ≈ denotes an approximate equality, literally meaning “approximately equal to.” This definition becomes a starting point for a text that questions human value and compares it to the power of capital. With this work, Khemiri realises a frightening yet extremely everyday assumption: what if everything we experience, everything around us, everything we expect and regret, could be translated into economic formulas of income and ultimate profit?
The narrative and perspective of the story are shared by more than twenty dramatic characters, ranging from lectures by early 19th-century scientists to direct addresses to the audience. The performance constantly walks a fine line between absurd, universally recognisable humorous sequences of everyday life on the one hand, and the harsh, brutal, and dark side of the social and economic system we live in on the other. Through a blend of theoretical, documentary, and fictional narration, it creates a precise and carefully constructed diagnosis of our present time.
