Nafta

Nafta is a performative mosaic that combines lecture formats, documentary theatre, sound installation, and manifesto. The performance explores the intertwined worlds of data capitalism, oil extraction, and radical collective action. Through two parts, Anthropocene and Pyrocene, it draws from an extensive archive in which the voices of the subversive podcast (O.I.L.) intertwine with the lives and works of members of the artistic collective R.Mutt.

Oil is a product of geological coincidence. It is no coincidence that it is also the story of a documentary filmmaker connected to the oil industry, a Russian neurologist torn apart by war, a wealthy Polish anarchist who has renounced her past, a German musician who continuously erases his own music, and a Danish artist whose performance unintentionally enables the rise of real extremists.

Oil is a story of shelters at the end of the world, of utopia in a time that seems to allow no alternatives. An autonomous zone within a world that is burning and collapsing into itself.
