On the occasion of the Academy’s anniversary, the discussion will shed light on its development, significance, and role within the educational, theatrical, and film landscape. Through the memories and reflections of the participants, a trajectory will be outlined from its beginnings to the present day, offering insight into key achievements, ambitions, and challenges that have shaped it. The anniversary thus serves not only as an opportunity to revisit the past, but also to reflect on its current position and future directions.

The online exhibition complements this perspective with a selection of archival material that reveals the Academy’s transformations over time. It particularly highlights the spatial conditions that have significantly marked its history, as for decades it operated in the inadequate premises of a Franciscan monastery. Confronting its own history – including its less visible layers – opens up questions about the institution’s identity today and its future development.
