Greg Black & The Bad Notion

Greg Black & The Bad Notion is a Slovenian blues-rock power trio known for their untamed energy, top-tier virtuosity, and a strikingly honest musical expression.

The band is fronted by charismatic guitarist and vocalist Greg Black, one of the most distinctive representatives of the younger generation of blues-rock musicians.

With his recognizable style, explosive solos, and intense vocals, he pushes the boundaries of contemporary blues rock. The rhythm section is firmly anchored by Borut Rampih on drums and Žiga Korenčič on bass, whose precision and feel create a solid yet dynamic sonic foundation.

Their music draws inspiration from legends such as The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Jeff Beck, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, while remaining distinctly modern and authorially convincing. On stage, the band comes fully alive—their performances are raw, unpredictable, and charged with energy, where exceptional virtuosity naturally intertwines with genuine, unfiltered emotion.

In September 2025, they released their debut album Brewing My Storm, which they premiered at a sold-out concert at Cukrarna. The album features nine original tracks and outstanding production that fully captures the intensity of their live sound. The lyrics are written by Greg Black, while the music is a collaborative effort of the trio.

A special place on the album is held by the track Cikorija 2025, based on a composition by Greg’s father, Zoran Crnkovič, founder of the cult 1970s band Jutro. Zoran, who passed away last year, left a lasting mark on Slovenian rock history. Greg adds: “This song is our tribute to my father and the generation that paved the way for rock music in our region.”

With their debut, the band confidently steps into the spotlight of a new wave of blues rock in Slovenia, revitalized in recent years also by Prismojeni profesorji bluesa.

Greg Black & The Bad Notion seamlessly blend tradition and modernity into a compelling musical story—one best experienced live.
