Ecos de Siboney

From the musical legacy left to the world by the legendary Cuban musician Compay Segundo, the group Ecos de Siboney was born—founded by his grandsons Ernesto, Leonardo, and Alejandro Repilado. As a reflection of the past and its living pulse in the present, the musicians continue the path paved by their grandfather, one of the key figures of the legendary collective Buena Vista Social Club.

Legend has it that Compay Segundo passed on not only his knowledge, but also the very essence—the spirit of the music—an invisible heritage of rhythms, stories, and the sunlit pulse of Cuba, blessing them as guardians of tradition and his musical heirs.

Is there really anything more to add?

The group preserves and develops the tradition of Son Cubano, one of Cuba’s most important musical styles, combining authentic expression with an energetic stage presence that captivates audiences both at home and around the world.

Their music is built on the interplay between solo vocals and chorus, as well as rhythmic repetitions that create a distinctive, almost hypnotic effect.

The group regularly performs on international stages and has received important Cuban music awards for their work.

With mega hits like Tengo un Son, they prove that tradition is not just heritage and the past, but also a source of inspiration for new, contemporary creative ideas.
