The film was created in cooperation between the Regional RTV Center Maribor and the Documentary Film Editorial Office of Television Slovenia.

The documentary Nebo nad Madridom (Sky above Madrid) is conceived as a multilayered portrait of a theatre creator and, at the same time, a reflective, sensitive human being—director Tomaž Pandur, who with his belief in the ritual power of theatre already as a young artist profoundly marked the Slovenian theatre scene and later also the international one.

The film not only highlights key milestones of his creative path but also opens up the intellectual and aesthetic horizon that shaped his theatrical poetics. Tomaž Pandur began his journey in the high school theatre group Tespisov voz, continued with the now cult production Scheherazade at the Slovensko mladinsko gledališče in Ljubljana, and later expanded his work across the European theatre landscape.
