(Brez)časni Brecht

Moderator: Tanja Petrič

Guests: Urška Brodar, Urška P. Černe, Jakob Ribič

On the 70th anniversary of the death of the great German playwright, poet, and theatre practitioner Bertolt Brecht (1898–1956), the round table will be dedicated to new and existing translations of Brecht’s dramatic texts and their stage productions on Slovenian stages in recent years—from The Wedding, Saint Joan of the Stockyards, and The Threepenny Opera to the documentary drama Life and Times of Bertolt Brecht. The discussion will address how Brecht is translated, interpreted, and staged today, as well as the influence of his theoretical work on all of these practices.

The event is part of the literary programme co-financed by the Slovenian Book Agency.
