bambus

The collective bambus primarily focuses on musicalized original poetry, which they develop in a distinctive way into a genre-diverse performative and sonic experience. The audience can expect everything from rock, metal, and jazz to improvised shifts between poetic verses.

The collective has been performing across Slovenia since the release of their debut album neskončno dolgi pogovori (endlessly long conversations) in July 2024. The album was released by Dve luni, the institute for the poetization of the world, in co-production with KMŠ and KID KIBLA. It includes original compositions as well as a reinterpretation of the song Ta stol by Marko Brecelj, as the authors wished to pay tribute to the tradition of musicalized poetry in Slovenia.

The mentors of neskončno dolgi pogovori were poet Nina Medved and musician Samo Šalamon. In addition to Šalamon, contributors to the album include Boštjan Gombač, Žan Cesar, and others.

Originally, the bambus duo consisted of poet Alja Pušič and musician Gašper Drev, the album’s authors. In the expanded lineup, they were joined by drummer Tin Matuš, pianist Jakob Korošec, and guitarist Jakob Podlesek.

The guest performance is produced in collaboration with Lutkovno gledališče Maribor and KČ Minoriti.
