Cycling Pilgrimage

On the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the Diocese of Maribor, you are warmly invited to join a special pilgrimage route from Sankt Andrä to Maribor. This nearly 100-kilometer journey brings together physical activity, community, and spiritual reflection, symbolically connecting parishes and people along the way.

Cycling pilgrimage along the Slomšek Route: Sankt Andrä → Maribor

As part of the 800th anniversary celebrations of the Diocese of Maribor, we are organizing a unique cycling pilgrimage that weaves together history, community, and spirituality.

Group pilgrimage
You are invited to join an organized cycling pilgrimage from Sankt Andrä (Carinthia, Austria) to Maribor, covering just under 100 km.

Along the way, we will visit important places from both our past and present, enriching the journey with prayer for our local Church.

Also for individual pilgrims
We are preparing special circular routes for independent pilgrimages across all 12 deaneries of the Archdiocese of Maribor.

These routes will connect all parish churches and will be available as digital navigation tracks.

Goal: a symbolic total of 800 kilometers ridden in honor of this remarkable anniversary.
