Police Orchestra
Police Orchestra of Slovenia is the central protocol orchestra of the Republic of Slovenia, founded in 1948. Through its development, it has formed a distinctive symphonic sound and combines the roles of musicians and police officers, connecting the police with the public and representing an important part of Slovenian state culture.
The quality and recognition of the orchestra have grown steadily since its establishment in 1948, with a significant flourishing in recent decades alongside the formation of the independent Slovenian state.
In 1994, the Government of Slovenia designated the ensemble as the official protocol orchestra of the Republic of Slovenia, and since 2001 it has officially been known as the Police Orchestra.
Numerous conductors and artistic directors have shaped and developed the orchestra, raising its level of professionalism and enriching its repertoire. With their contribution, the orchestra has refined its artistic expression and established a true symphonic sound that remains its defining characteristic today.
Through their work, the members of the orchestra connect the police with citizens of Slovenia. With their musical and operational professionalism, dedication, and dual role as musicians and police officers, they represent both pride and honour not only for the police force but for the Slovenian state as a whole.
