Slovensko Gorica Wind Orchestra MOL Lenart

The beginnings of the MOL Wind Orchestra date back to September 1992, when the board of directors of the MOL association from Lenart met for the first time. They immediately began recruiting members, including mainly students from the Lenart Music School, but they were also joined by older amateur musicians from the area of the former large municipality of Lenart.

Today, the MOL Wind Orchestra has 35 members and is headquartered in Lenart, where it is also most active. It is also indispensable in neighboring municipalities, such as Benedikt, Jurovski Dol, Sveta Trojica, Sveta Ana and Cerkvenjak. It performs at parish ordinations, municipal and local holidays, anniversaries of fire brigades and other associations, Easter processions, jubilees, celebrations and other events. Their traditional performances also include the May Day vigil, which they have been performing on the streets of Lenart for many years.

The orchestra's repertoire includes world classics, Slovenian pop songs, film music and marches, as well as fun melodies, so every visitor can find something for themselves. The orchestra is often joined on stage by guest singers; they have collaborated with the group Il Divji, Eva Lorbek, Alfi Nipič, the vocal group Cantare, Omar Naber and Nuša Derenda, among others.

Organizing concerts in the city park has a rich tradition dating back to 1890, and for more than three decades, the Maribor National Hall has continued this tradition. In addition to the social aspect, it has also added a social note, as it primarily offers amateur associations and musical groups from the city and its surroundings the opportunity to perform. Thus, the diverse and varied musical events are provided by brass bands, choirs, chamber ensembles, vocal ensembles, folk singers and musicians, and folklore groups.

From May to September, promenade concerts, accompanied by pleasant meetings and socializing between generations, as well as children's play and laughter, lure many Maribor residents to the green city oasis, and for random visitors, make their visit to one of the most beautiful parks in this part of Europe more enjoyable.

For 2026, we are planning 13 concerts, which will be held every sunny Sunday at 10:30 a.m., and admission will be free.

The concerts in the park were supported by the City of Maribor.

In case of bad weather, the event is cancelled.

The organizer reserves the right to change the program.
