Parade of the Pošta Maribor Wind Orchestra
The closing festival parade will round off the events on the Lent festival grounds with a musical walk led by the Pošta Maribor Wind Orchestra, taking visitors between the Water Tower and the Judgement Tower, with a festive stop at Splavarska Bridge.
Water Tower – Splavarska Bridge – Judgement Tower
The traditional festival parade will mark the final highlight of this year’s festival program. It will take place along the scenic promenade on the Lent waterfront, from the Water Tower to the Judgement Tower, with a special stop at Splavarska Bridge where the atmosphere will briefly come alive in a particularly festive way.
Musical accompaniment will be provided by the Pošta Maribor Wind Orchestra, one of the most recognizable and high-quality wind orchestras in Slovenia, active since 1931. Today, the orchestra brings together more than 70 members of different generations and professions — from young musicians to experienced academic artists — creating a unique and rich musical energy.
The orchestra boasts extensive international experience, having performed across Europe from Austria and Germany to Spain and Scandinavia, and has received numerous awards and high rankings at prestigious competitions.
After more than five decades of artistic leadership, longtime conductor Ervin Hartman Jr. was succeeded by Aleksander Čonč, who continues to guide the orchestra with renewed energy and vision.
The closing parade will thus bring together tradition, music, and a festive atmosphere, symbolically rounding off the festival into an unforgettable shared moment.
