Leonard Kobal, Piano

Virtuoso pianist Leonard Kobal impresses with outstanding musical maturity and an exceptional record of awards and achievements.

Pianist Leonard Kobal is currently studying piano at the Academy of Arts Novi Sad in the class of Professor Rita Kinka. He began his musical journey with distinction at the Music School in Varaždin under the guidance of Professor Predrag Šantek and has since established himself as an accomplished soloist and chamber musician.

He is a multiple winner of national and international competitions, earning numerous first prizes and audience awards. Among his most notable achievements are first prizes and gold awards at the TEMSIG competition, the Tartini Competition (where he also received a special award for his own composition), the Ivan Rijavec Competition (overall winner), the Lions Grand Prix in Rijeka, and Croatian national music competitions.

Kobal has also achieved remarkable success on international stages, winning awards in Moscow and Sremska Mitrovica, where he received a perfect score of 100 points. At the Great Masters and Golden Piano Talents competitions, he received special prizes for his interpretations of works by Frédéric Chopin and Johann Sebastian Bach.

As a semi-finalist in the Hungarian talent show Virtuózok V4+, he earned the opportunity to perform with the Hungarian Orchestra at the Liszt Academy of Music.

To date, he has given numerous acclaimed recitals and has appeared as a soloist with the Varaždin Chamber Orchestra at the Varaždin Baroque Evenings festival. In recognition of his outstanding accomplishments, he received the Excellence Award from the Rotary Club Varaždin.

Kobal continues to refine his artistry through masterclasses with distinguished professors, including N. Trull, R. Dalibaltayan, V. Shcherbakov, and others.
