Kvartet violončel Cédez
The Cédez cello quartet brings together four of Slovenia’s most accomplished cellists, elevating chamber music to the highest artistic level.
The cello quartet Kvartet Cédez consists of four of the most successful Slovenian cellists, all laureates of top national and international competitions. Each of them has studied at leading European music institutions, including the Mozarteum University Salzburg, the Zurich University of the Arts, and the Amsterdam Conservatory, where cello ensembles of this kind are far more established and widespread. Their goal is to bring this tradition home and present chamber music at the highest performance level to Slovenian audiences.
Katarina Kozjek completed her master’s degree in Ljubljana under Prof. M. Mlejnik. As a soloist and chamber musician, she has won numerous awards at festivals and competitions, including TEMSIG. She served as deputy principal cellist at the Slovenian National Theatre Maribor and is currently head of the cello section at the Croatian National Theatre Rijeka, as well as an active pedagogue.
Zala Vidic studied in Vienna under Prof. R. Latzko and completed her master’s degree in Amsterdam under Prof. P. Wispelwey. She is a recipient of the Škerjanc Award and previously represented Slovenia at the Eurovision Young Musicians competition. She has performed with the renowned Amsterdam Sinfonietta and is active in several chamber ensembles.
Nejc Rupnik is currently studying at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg under Prof. E. Bronzi. He is a two-time recipient of the Škerjanc Award and a multiple competition laureate, both as a soloist and as a member of the Rupnik Piano Trio, with whom he has performed for thirteen years. He plays a high-quality instrument made in Cremona.
Izak Hudnik completed his master’s studies at the Mozarteum and in Zurich and has also gained orchestral experience with the prestigious Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam. He is a two-time recipient of the Prešeren Award and laureate of international competitions. Alongside his successful concert career, he is also a PhD student in philosophy at the University of Ljubljana.
