Trio Rupnik

The Rupnik Piano Trio consists of three siblings – Anže, Manca, and Nejc Rupnik. Since 2010, they have been developing a distinctive chamber music voice and performing on stages in Slovenia and abroad, where they regularly receive top awards.

The Rupnik Piano Trio consists of pianist Anže Rupnik, violinist Manca Rupnik, and cellist Nejc Rupnik. The trio has been active since 2010 and has developed into a mature and recognisable chamber ensemble through many years of collaboration and studies with distinguished mentors.

Between 2013 and 2016, the ensemble worked under the mentorship of Prof. Tomaž Lorenz at the Conservatory of Music and Ballet Ljubljana, and between 2017 and 2020 under Prof. Janez Podlesek at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. Since October 2024, the members have been studying together at the Mozarteum University Salzburg in the master’s programme Chamber Music – Piano Trio under Prof. Cibrán Sierra Vásquez.

The trio has performed at numerous solo concerts and prestigious concert series in Slovenia and abroad, including the Ljubljana Festival (Young Virtuosi series), Imago Sloveniae, Festival Lent, Bled Festival, and Gallus Fest Idrija, as well as in Rome, Vienna, Devin, and Bad Hofgastein. In 2019, they performed at a charity St. Nicholas concert broadcast by RTV Slovenia.

For 15 years, the ensemble has traditionally performed an annual concert in their hometown of Vrhnika, at the Church of the Holy Trinity. In November 2025, the trio was selected at the Mozarteum University for a two-week exchange with a trio from the Royal College of Music in London, performing four concerts – one in Salzburg and three in London.

The Rupnik Piano Trio is a laureate of numerous first prizes and top awards at national and international competitions, including TEMSIG, Festival Gudača, Paolo Spincich (Trieste), Svirel, Primož Ramovš Competition, and Alpe Adria. In 2015, the trio received the Škerjanc Award from the Conservatory of Music and Ballet Ljubljana for outstanding artistic achievements.
