Duo Devana

The Duo Devana brings together two outstanding Slovenian musicians – cellist Ema Grčman and pianist Tanja Činč Mirt– whose rich international careers merge into a unique musical dialogue.

Cellist Ema Grčman performs regularly across Europe and the United States with renowned ensembles such as Ensemble Aurōrae, Trio Lys, Ensemble Catinblack, and Schallfeld. She collaborates with leading contemporary composers and has recorded at IRCAM in Paris, as well as appeared at Harvard University. As a soloist, she has performed with the Slovenian Philharmonic, and as an orchestral musician she has worked with the German Chamber Academy Neuss, the Bern Philharmonic Orchestra, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, and served as principal cellist of the Folkwang Orchestra. She is also active as a mentor within the VTIS association.

Pianist Tanja Činč Mirt studied in Ljubljana with Prof. H. Haas and continued her education in Zagreb and Graz. She is a recipient of the Škerjanc Award and the Prešeren Award, and a multiple prizewinner at national and international competitions. As a soloist she has performed with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, and since 2012 she has been a member of the internationally awarded piano trio Rêverie. She regularly appears at major festivals in Slovenia (Ljubljana Festival, Imago Sloveniae, Festival Lent) and abroad (London, Paris, Vienna, Canada, Argentina). She has released five promotional CDs and, since 2019, teaches piano and works as an accompanist at the Kranj Music School.
