In an interplay of music and light, we will explore the symbolism of autumn as represented in the decoration of the Baroque staircase and the Knights’ Hall of Maribor Castle. Through selected motifs, we will reflect on autumn as a time of abundance, harvest and labour, as well as part of nature’s eternal cycle.

The second part of the evening will focus on the life of a middle-class citizen in 19th-century Maribor – their everyday life and celebrations, customs and etiquette. We will take a closer look at the festive dining table and the role of food in bourgeois culture, with a touch of culinary delights to round off the evening.
