The Oldest Grapevine House

The Oldest Grapevine House

The world’s oldest grapevine is the very symbol of Štajerska’s winemaking tradition and the city of Maribor. It is no surprise that the Old Vine House has a world-class enoteca, stocked with bottles from 55 local vintners. Hear the tale of Maribor’s heroine, the world record holder among grapevines, and about the delicious fruit she still bears to this day. Learn the history of winemaking in Štajerska and marvel at Slovenia’s Wine Queens. While you’re here, check out Slovenia’s biggest mosaic floor in the enoteca, chock full of interesting imagery.

The House of the Oldest Grapevine at Vojašniška 8 is temporarily closed due to renovations. In the meantime, you can visit us at our POP-UP location in the Cultural Quarter Minoriti, where our professionally trained team will be happy to share stories about wines and winemakers and help you choose wines that suit your taste.
