Experience Maribor through the flavours of authentic Styrian cuisine at a unique hands-on cooking workshop with wine pairing, designed especially for visitors staying in the city for several days and wishing to truly feel its rhythm and character.
The experience takes place in the historic Kavarna Astorija, one of the city’s oldest cafés, approaching its impressive 100th anniversary.
The workshop lasts approximately 4 hours and includes:
- a visit to Maribor’s market with the purchase of ingredients from local producers,
- a walk through the historic city centre,
- a cooking class led by a professional chef,
- a shared lunch with wine pairing.
Participants actively take part in preparing a full traditional menu: beef soup, breaded chicken and pork roast, sautéed potatoes, green salad, and apple strudel or gibanica.
During the cooking process, participants also learn practical culinary tips from a professional kitchen. The workshop takes place in a relaxed atmosphere accompanied by Slovenian music.
After cooking, the prepared dishes are enjoyed together, paired with selected local wines and juices, and participants receive a small gift of local origin.
