Maribor with the ballet performance Cinderella
Arrive in Maribor at approximately 10 am. In the old city centre, Lent, at the banks of the Drava River, grows the oldest "lady" of the city, the world’s oldest grape bearing vine. In the "House of the Old Vine" (a very interesting wine museum), we will have the first wine tasting of the day! Here on the river, where rafts and barges docked in the past, we will start the tour through the medieval Maribor. We will see the well renovated puppet theatre (in the Minorite Monastery of the 13th century) and the Europe’s third-oldest synagogue. We will continue past the unique commemorative Plague monument, enter the Cathedral and the City Castle (today the seat of Maribor Regional Museum). We will end the tour at well-known City Park of Maribor. Bus tour to one of the farms at Maribor's Wine Route. We will enjoy a typical Styrian lunch, spiced up with a good wine and beautiful views. The ballet performance, Cinderella by Sergej Prokofjev, starts at 6 pm in the National Theatre Maribor. The Maribor Ballet is guided by the internationally known choreograph Edward Clug, who is well known far beyond the borders of Slovenia. The journey home begins after the performance.
