MARIBOR with the theatre performance

Dear friends! This is Slovenia, on the sunny side of the Alps! A young state, an old culture, and a marvellous landscape. Home to two million strong and proud people, who weathered the exposed junction below the Alps. In the north of this small fatherland... lies the capital of Štajerska (the Slovenian Styria), Maribor –Europe Capital of Culture 2012. We invite you to spend a beautiful day in our city.

MARIBOR with the theatre performance

Arrive in Maribor at approximately 10 am. In the old city centre, Lent, at the banks of the Drava River, grows the oldest "lady" of the city, the world’s oldest grape bearing vine. In the "House of the Old Vine" (a very interesting wine museum), we will have the first wine tasting of the day! Here on the river, where rafts and barges docked in the past, we will start the tour through the medieval Maribor. We will see the well renovated puppet theatre (in the Minorite Monastery of the 13th century) and the Europe’s third-oldest synagogue. We will continue past the unique commemorative Plague monument, enter the Cathedral and the City Castle (today the seat of Maribor Regional Museum). We will end the tour at well-known City Park of Maribor. Bus tour to one of the farms at Maribor's Wine Route. We will enjoy a typical Styrian lunch, spiced up with a good wine and beautiful views. In the evening we will visit the Slovene National Theatre in Maribor an opera and ballet performance (if on schedule).

SERVICES: English speaking guide (2 hours), 1 x wine tasting at the House of the Old Vine, typical lunch at the tourist farm.
