Rogla-Skomarje-Slovenske Konjice-Maribor

1st Day: Rogla-Skomarje-Slovenske Konjice-Maribor

Arriving at the Rogla (1517m) mountain in the morning where we will enjoy the experience of nature from a new perspective. We will walk on the path among Pohorje Treetops, which opens up a bird’s-eye view of the vast Pohorje forests, and mostly learn about the meaning of unspoiled forests for the benefit of mankind. We will walk 1 km and ascend to the 37 m high tower, opening up a fantastic 360-degree view of the surroundings. The bravest among you can take a toboggan to descend from the tower.

After getting some fresh air, we will enjoy refreshments at the Arbajter Tourist Farm at Skomarje and visit their deer and fallow deer farm. We will enjoy a rich feast of cured meat of the Taste Rogla certified brand and have some sweet Pohorje pastry “vlivani štrudl”. You will have an opportunity to purchase the products.

The path will take us to the valley, passing Zreče, the city of good feeling, up to the Slovenske Konjice, the city in the wine’s embrace. The wine-making tradition has been a part of this region since the Roman Empire, which you will be able to testify by visiting the Zlati Grič wine cellar in Škalce. The guided tour of the wine cellar follows and the tasting of the Konjiška penina sparkling wine; two samples accompanied by bread and cheese from the local provider.

We will then continue to Maribor in a lovely atmosphere. Arriving at the Maribor Hotel in the evening, settling up in the rooms, followed by an evening stroll through the city. Dinner in the Rožmarin Restaurant accompanied by local wines. Turning in.

2nd Day: Maribor – Fram

After breakfast in the hotel, we will take a guided tour of the Maribor city centre, starting at the city park. Then a walk through the Trg Generala Maistra square to the renowned ''Ezl ek'', one of the most renowned coffee shops in the city – the Astoria at the Grajski Trg square. While enjoying excellent coffee, you can witness the atmosphere of the Slovenska Ulica street and the Florjanov Trg square. After refreshments, we will continue by the Franciscan Church, across the Trg Leona Štuklja square to reach the Slomškov Trg square, where we will step inside the Janez Krstnik (John the Baptist) monastery church dating back to the 12th century. It is adorned by the unique and mighty interior and equipment from different art periods. Through the lively Poštna Ulica street, we will continue our walk to the Glavni Trg square, passing a Plague Column from the 17th century, continuing to the Židovski Trg square, which is adorned by the Židovski Stolp tower and the Synagogue. The city tour will be concluded at Lent, in front of the oldest vine in the world – žametovka or modra kavčina, which is included in the Guinness Book of Records and symbolises the tradition of the Maribor-Pohorje destination’s wine culture. What follows is the tasting of the excellent wines of the Štajerska region at the Gostilnica Stara Trta restaurant, where our tour of the city centre is concluded.

With a lively spring in our step, we will drive to the Pohorje funicular to enjoy a tasty lunch at the Mlada Lipa Pension.

Then we will take the funicular to the Maribor Pohorje. The top itself will open up the experience of a beautiful view of the entire Maribor city and its surroundings. Time to take a walk by the local walking paths, where we will enjoy the fresh air and gather up some strength for future endeavours. Descend then back to the valley and driving to Planica nad Framom, where our programme is concluded at the Pri Baronu Tourist and Eco Farm, renowned for their ecological approach to farming (permaculture garden, herbal garden, homemade beverages, farm animals, Pohorje Beef, etc.). Demonstration of the farm and dinner – a plate of house delicacies. Concluding the programme in the evening hours.

Price includes: entrance fee for the Path Among Pohorje Treetops, refreshments at the Arbajter Tourist Farm (cured meat spread and pastry), wine tasting at the Zlati Grič wine cellar (sparkling wine + 3 types of wine + cheese), 1 x stay at the Maribor Hotel (accommodation in double bedrooms), dinner on the first day at the Rožmarin Restaurant, wine tasting at the Gostilnica Stara Trta, lunch on the second day at the Mlada Lipa Pension, the Pohorje Funicular, dinner on the second day at the Pri Baronu Tourist Farm, guidance and travel organisation, VAT.

Additional payment: organised transportation by bus for 10 to 50 people. Price upon agreement, depending on the distance. Accommodation in 1/1 room approx. EUR 30, depending on the period.
