In May and June 2026, regular evaluations were carried out within the framework of the Naše najboljše / Our Finest collective brand, which connects and promotes high-quality local products, agricultural produce, gastronomy, handicrafts and experiences from the areas of Maribor, the Drava Valley and Drava Plain, Pohorje and Kozjak, and the Slovenske gorice Hills.
The first evaluation took place on 28 May in the field, when the expert commission consisting of Tanja Lešnik Štuhec, Franci Jezeršek and Urša Cvilak assessed food and beverages served in hospitality establishments. The commission visited Nana, Fudo, Gostilna Vernik and the Ovtar Jarenina Tourist Association, evaluating the quality of preparation and service, the use of local ingredients, the integration of regional culinary heritage and the overall hospitality experience.
The second evaluation took place on 9 June at the Higher Vocational College for Hospitality and Tourism Maribor. On this occasion, the expert commission consisting of Goran Radinović, Dr Bojana Rogelj Škafar, Marlena Skvarča, Tanja Lešnik Štuhec and Tadeja Vodovnik Plevnik evaluated food products, agricultural produce and handicraft products.
The Naše najboljše / Our Finest collective brand is based on the recognition of quality, authenticity and local origin. Certified products and services must meet strict criteria, including the use of local ingredients and materials, respect for tradition, innovation and a sustainable approach to product and service development.
The project makes an important contribution to the development of the Maribor destination by encouraging cooperation among local providers, strengthening short supply chains and enabling visitors to enjoy authentic, high-quality experiences. In this way, Naše najboljše has become an important building block of the destination’s recognizable, sustainable and authentic tourism story.
