“The driver stepped on the gas, and Gora appeared in the distance; bells rang out across the hills, and Francka—covered in dust, battered, and exhausted—lit up… Francka had arrived in Gora.”
What is the goal, and how is it achieved? Although questions of this or that nature regarding the meaning of existence are by no means unique to our time, they must always be reexamined.
Through an interpretation of Cankar’s novel Na klancu, which is permeated by forces of longing, we set out on a pilgrimage to an all-encompassing destination—the Mountain. But how do we get there, and what is the path to the heights? The children wonder about this, annoy their mother, and test the limits of their world.
