Explore the techniques behind works in the UGM Collection and create your own copy of a painting from *Spekter* with artist Vid Koprivšek. No prior experience needed.
Copyists at UGM is a painting workshop for young people and adults aged 14 and over.
Participants will first choose a painting from the exhibition Spekter / 70 Years of the UGM Collection that particularly catches their attention. Together with artist Vid Koprivšek, they will then explore how the selected work was created: which materials, colours and painting techniques were used and how these choices shape the final image.
Participants will set up an easel in front of the original artwork and create their own copy using a canvas, brushes and other materials. The aim to gain a hands-on understanding of the painting process through their own creative work. The workshop offers an opportunity to engage with artworks and discover how an idea, materials and artistic techniques come together to form a painting. No previous experience is required.
Workshops take place on 7, 13, 21 and 28 October at UGM.
