Family-produced wines, seasonal fruit and guided tastings in a historic wine cellar in Svečina.

In the wine-growing village of Svečina, near the Austrian border, the Mukenauer family has combined winemaking and fruit growing since 1903. Vino in sadje Mukenauer is a family estate where the fifth generation continues the tradition. Its signature story, “Three Sisters, Three Wines,” celebrates Špela, Lucija and Maruša, the three daughters whose names appear on the family's wines.

The estate produces bottled wines and cuvées, including the distinctive Špela, Lucija and Maruša labels. Alongside wine, the family grows seasonal fruit such as cherries, apricots, peaches, plums and apples. Its 2023 Welschriesling has received the Naše najboljše (Our Finest) quality certificate, recognising selected regional products from the Maribor area.

One of the highlights is a guided tasting in the family's historic wine cellar, whose history stretches back more than a century. Tastings introduce the wines and the family's winemaking heritage, connecting each glass with the traditions of Svečina. Visits are arranged in advance. The estate is part of a border-region wine landscape known for its vineyards and scenic wine roads.
