On Stolni Vrh above Maribor, surrounded by vineyards overlooking Pohorje, Vina Mak is part of Mak Tourist Farm. Just a few kilometres from the city centre, the estate combines winemaking, traditional food and countryside stays. Its distinctive features include environmentally conscious grape growing and deer farming.
The vineyards grow Welschriesling, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon, Yellow Muscat and Pinot varieties. The grapes are cultivated according to organic farming principles. Some wines mature in oak barrels, while the estate also explores fermentation in clay amphorae. Its selection includes the Kralj Matjaž blend, varietal wines and sparkling wine.
The food menu features homemade cold cuts with traditional cured pork, prosciutto, salami, venison salami, pork spread and cheeses. There is also a vegetarian cheese platter featuring produce from local makers, alongside walnut or cottage cheese gibanica. The farm offers accommodation among the vineyards, with opportunities to spot deer in the evenings. Visits and meals are by prior arrangement.
