Beside a quiet inlet of the Drava River in Spodnja Selnica, Gostilna Pec has welcomed guests for more than a century. Once a stop for rafters seeking hearty meals, the inn now combines local traditions with contemporary cooking. Its 2021 renovation preserved the old conservatory, while the terrace overlooks the river and orchard.
The menu follows the seasons, with herbs and vegetables from the kitchen garden. It includes meat, fish and vegetarian dishes as well as multi-course slow food lunches. A signature dessert is the pumpkin cake, served with chocolate, pumpkin ice cream and pumpkin seeds. The kitchen also dry-ages its own beef steaks, while sommeliers help pair dishes with wines from Slovenia and beyond.
A wine cellar and private tasting room, added during the renovation, extend the dining experience. The estate also includes four whimsical Glamping Pec cabins, and the seasonal Idila bar opens by the river in warmer months. Together, they connect a long culinary history with a peaceful setting beside the Drava.
