In Lovrenc na Pohorju, beside the Radoljna stream on the northern side of Pohorje, Zlati Škorpijon Pizzeria has been run by the family of Vanja and Peter since 1996. Its pizzas follow Vanja's own recipes rather than conventional Italian styles. Locally, these distinctive creations are known as “Pohorje pizzas.”
One speciality is the Zlati Škorpijon seafood pizza, an unexpected signature dish in a town surrounded by forested hills. The menu also includes pizzas in different sizes, Pohorje-style burgers and grilled patties served in flatbreads made from house-prepared dough, spicy chicken wings, chicken dishes and salads. For dessert, puréed strawberries with ice cream and whipped cream are a longstanding favourite.
A covered terrace and summer garden provide space for meals and gatherings, including groups. The pizzeria is a stop for visitors exploring Lovrenc and northern Pohorje, as well as cyclists: it lies around one kilometre from the Maribor–Ruše–Lehen–Ribnica na Pohorju cycle route. Its family-run character remains part of the experience.
