Pohorje Café

At the foot of Pohorje in Maribor's Radvanje district, Pohorska kavarna is a family-run café and patisserie dating back to 1996. Many of its cakes still follow longstanding recipes, while new flavours and a cake of the month add variety. Its signature Pohorska kavarna slice combines puff pastry, homemade vanilla cream, light and chocolate sponge, whipped cream and a chocolate topping.

Alongside classic and contemporary cakes, the café makes its own artisan gelato, served throughout the year. In summer, the neighbouring Paradice ice cream garden offers an expanded selection, including vegan and gluten-free choices. The outdoor garden and play area make it a popular family stop. Custom cakes are also prepared for weddings, birthdays and other celebrations.

Coffee and dessert here can be part of a day exploring the Pohorje foothills, whether before or after a walk or outdoor activity. The property also offers guest accommodation, combining a long-standing local pastry tradition with a place to stay close to the mountain.
