Homemade food, Williams pears and rural experiences on a family farm in the Slovenske gorice hills.

In Cogetinci near Cerkvenjak, among the hills of Slovenske gorice, Firbas Tourist Farm has welcomed guests since 1993. The family's signature produce is the Williams pear, used for juice, nectar, pear brandy and desserts. In 2026, the farm opened a dedicated tasting and presentation space where visitors can explore the story of the pear and its journey from orchard to table.

The kitchen follows the seasons, using produce from the farm's gardens, fields and pantry. Traditional dishes include pork preserved in tünka, farmhouse cheeses, pâté, sour soup and gibanica pastry, supplemented by ingredients from nearby farmers. Pear specialities, from thick juice to compote and ice cream, have a place of their own. Menus for overnight guests vary with the harvest, and hot meals require advance booking.

Other experiences include orchard visits, meeting farm animals and taking part in daily farm chores by arrangement. Guests can also stay in rooms, glamping accommodation or the distinctive hayloft sleeping experience, recognised as a unique Slovenian experience. Food here is closely tied to life on a working farm.
