Pizzeria Pomodoro

On Betnavska Road in Maribor, not far from the city centre, Pizzeria Pomodoro has been serving Italian-inspired food for over 20 years. Its defining feature is a traditional oven fired with beechwood, used to bake every pizza and hot starter. The wood fire gives the dishes their characteristic flavour, while a covered terrace adds to the relaxed setting.

The menu combines classic Italian pizzas with gourmet variations featuring ingredients such as Karst prosciutto, mozzarella, tomatoes and fresh rocket. A speciality is the selection of homemade tartar, tomato and chilli sauces, alongside flavoured oils for adding a personal finishing touch. Pizzas are also available with wholemeal or gluten-free dough, and the menu includes vegetarian and vegan choices.

Beyond pizza, the kitchen serves fresh salads, oven-baked bread rolls and daily desserts from its own pastry kitchen. Slovenian wines and draught beer complete the selection. Pomodoro combines traditional wood-fired cooking with a varied menu and the informal atmosphere of a neighbourhood pizzeria.
