Six white wines and tastings beside Slovenia's largest historic wooden wine press.

In the wine-growing hills of Počehova above Maribor, Ramšak Winery is a family-run estate with a remarkable piece of winemaking history: a wooden wine press built in 1851. Recognised as the largest old wooden wine press in Slovenia, it connects the family's contemporary wine production with the region's viticultural heritage.

The estate grows six white grape varieties, reflecting the character of the Styrian wine region. Among its wines are Silvaner, Welschriesling and Pinot Gris. The wines are made from grapes grown in the family's vineyards, giving visitors the chance to explore local varieties where they are produced. The tasting experience focuses on the different styles and characteristics of the wines.

A guided tasting of six white wines includes a small cheese accompaniment and a visit to the historic press. Guests can also see the wine cellar and learn about the family's work. Visits are arranged in advance, making the winery a stop along the Maribor Wine Tourist Road and an introduction to winemaking in the hills surrounding the city.
