In Svečina near the Slovenian-Austrian border, Vino Jamnik is a family winery where winemaking knowledge has been passed down through generations. Its vineyards grow on the rolling slopes of Slovenske gorice, where warm days and cooler air influence grape ripening. The family carefully manages vine yields and favours minimal intervention in the cellar.
The selection ranges from dry to sweet wines, including Sauvignon, Riesling, Kerner, Yellow Muscat and Traminer. A particular speciality is Chardonnay ice wine, alongside still wines and sparkling wines, including a rosé made from Zweigelt. The estate has received the regional Naše najboljše (Our Finest) quality certificate for its Yellow Muscat, Sauvignon and sparkling wine. Peaches are also grown on the farm during summer.
Guided tastings and cellar tours introduce the wines, their individual characteristics and the family's production methods. A dedicated tasting room provides space to explore the range, and wines are available to purchase. Visits are arranged in advance, offering an insight into Svečina's family winemaking traditions.
