On Lackova Road in Maribor, on the way towards Pohorje, Gostilna Pri Lipi takes its name from the approximately 400-year-old linden tree standing outside. Also known as Stara lipa, the inn preserves the character of a traditional Slovenian restaurant, with the Tašner family's hospitality tradition now in its third generation. An outdoor garden beside the old tree adds to the setting.
Its signature dish is Slovenian-style fried chicken, which has made the inn a familiar name in Maribor for decades. The menu also features homemade soups, roasts, seasonal meat dishes and traditional desserts, including strudels and gibanica pastry. Slovenian wines accompany the food, while the St Martin's Day feast is a seasonal speciality linked to Styrian wine traditions.
The inn holds the Gostilna Slovenija designation, recognising its connection to Slovenian culinary heritage. With its traditional food, old linden tree and location towards Pohorje, it remains part of Maribor's dining history and a place for family meals.
